    This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

    Responsibilities

    GS-07 Duties Assists with the development of maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and associated equipment. To prepare the incumbent for full performance level assignments. Provides assistance in implementing maintenance plans through the development and publication of maintenance schedules to include scheduled and unscheduled repair actions, time-sensitive inspections or modifications. Under general supervision, develops preliminary operational schedules (utilization plans) and provides the Operations Group with an estimate of maintenance support capability to meet operational requirements. Under general supervision responsible for maintaining Data Documentation to include aircraft Maintenance Historical Documentation , Aircraft Jacket Files, Aircraft Document Reviews. Under general supervision, coordinates the implementation of Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) Program, to include the implementation of individual TCTOs GS-09 Duties Develops maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and associated equipment Implements maintenance plans through the development and publication of maintenance schedules to include scheduled and unscheduled repair actions, time-sensitive inspections or modifications Develops preliminary operational schedules (utilization plans) and provides the Operations Group with an estimate of maintenance support capability to meet operational requirements.     Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS : In order to qualify, you must meet the {general / specialized} experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,{Clerical and Administrative Positions}.
    GS 07 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05 , or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive knowledge of operation, installation, and repair of a variety of aircraft systems, assemblies, and surfaces such as hydraulic and pneudraulic systems and assemblies; electrical systems and assemblies; indication systems and assemblies; landing gear systems and assemblies; ground refueling and air refueling systems and assemblies; cargo door and ramp systems and assemblies; and flight control system and assemblies.
    GS 09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07 , or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of recurring manufacture, overhaul, or repair of products or projects using multiple-process production methods and procedures to develop plans and information necessary for the control of complex products such as airframes of fixed and rotary wing aircraft or a variety of complex and long-term facility repair and construction projects. Knowledge of the industrial activity, its staff and support operations, the purpose and capacities of the machines and equipment, the type and kind of labor required, a variety of material resources and their cost, to plan for a control the production cycle. Knowledge of product and manufacturing terminology, data, and standards and how to relate them to new projects.

    GS-07 FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS : Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

    OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS
    (1) This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART enlisted position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in unit Training Assemblies (UTAs). The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities (2) The incumbent must obtain and retain the appropriate security clearance level designation for the position. (3) The incumbent may be required to 'fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from normal duty station. (4) The incumbent may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands. (5) Performs other duties as assigned.

    PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

    This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
