Leads the identificationand developmentof viable Commercial & Industrial and/or Federalsector energy services and energy asset projectsinitiated by thesales force or developedindependently. Provides technical and financialanalysis of energy conservation measures and energysupply for projects under consideration.Evaluatesenergy savingopportunities at customer facilities.Participates in the process of securing new customers by buildingbusiness relationships. Assumesactive support roles in the sales and bid process,and installation phase.Actsas liaison between the Sales andProjectManagement teams.
Conducts energy auditsand prepares writtenproposals identifying potentialenergy conservation upgrades.Performs detailed analyses of costs and savings.
Employs technical expertise to develop preliminary designs and estimates of cost and energy saving opportunities at customer'sfacilities. Providestechnical and implementation recommendations to the customer.
Supports sales team in developingand presenting energysavings proposals to customers.
Implements company project control processes for projects in accordance with established cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
Provides periodic status reports to management on project status and/or performance.
Coordinates projectturnover with Project Management.
Demonstrates leadershipin the area of safety. This requiresobserving and encouragingsafework behaviors.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Requires substantialtime at various projects locations.
Requires frequent(30%) overnight travel to customer facilities,may include auto, air, rail travel.
Move autonomously, walkingand standing for long periods,hearing, seeing, reading,andwriting.
Workindependently and with people, speakingin frontof groups and withindividuals, customers, management, engineers,subcontractors, manufacturers, andsuppliers, etc.
Grasp, reach, feel, andfinger dexterity.
Operate a motor vehicle.
Work both indoors and outdoors,in hot or cold conditions,and around construction project sites.
Technical/Job Skill Qualifications: Thecandidate must meet the followingminimum qualifications andhave demonstrated the following technical or job skills:
Educationand/or experienceequivalent to a Bachelors degree from anaccredited college in engineeringand/or business-relateddiscipline and 8 years ofrelevant work experience in the evaluationand implementation of energy conservationprojects with technical solutions at customer site locations.
Professional Engineering(PE) registration, Certified Energy Manager (CEM)and/or LEED Accreditation preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop complexenergy conservation saving projects.
Detailedknowledge of heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical systems, and processrelated systems in commercial, industrial, governmental, hospital,and laboratory buildings.
Experiencein developingenergy conservation projects involving renewable energy technologies, largeprime movers such as combustion turbines, biomass and landfill gas facilities.
Knowledgeable of the steps required forproject commissioning.
Experiencein the development of customerproposals, vendor agreements,and subcontractor contracts.
Knowledge of andexperiencein energy conservation programs withthe Federal Government through Super ESPC and/or Area-widecontract vehicles and withFEMP/IPMVP Measurement and Verification guidelines and protocols.
Experience incustomer presentations, including excellent writing skills.
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communicationskills.
Ability to work collaboratively with anentire project team to develop and present proposals, obtain customer buy-in,and help to transition smoothly to implementation.
Proficiencyon the use of computer-based applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project database applications.
Ability to perform load calculations andenergy analyses using industry modeling software programs including CarrierHourly Analysis Program, eQuest, and/or Trane Trace.
Ability to work in a diverse environment(internal/external).
Effective leadership skills.
Must possess valid driver's license.
May be subject to government security investigation
Must meet eligibility requirementsfor access to governmentfacilities.
