Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) Engineer to become part of our state of the art 300mm factory. The successful candidate will be a member of the Global OPC Team and will collaborate with Metrology, Litho, Etch, Integration teams to establish successful computational lithography solutions for 14nm and 12nm technology nodes, improving yield and decreasing cycle times.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) keyword coding, data review, wafer level qualification, and fab patterning interaction.

Own critical layer-specific Optical Rule Check (ORC) and print quality verification.

Participate in layer-specific Mask Data Preparation (MDP) flow, qualifications, and runtime performance.

Collaborate with OPC modeler, OPC recipe owner, product integration, and lithography to deliver optimal OPC solutions.

Identify OPC problems and plan for early detection and/or systematic solutions to eliminate sources.

Deliver ORC sampling plan for CFM, PWQ, FEM, and/or MFE wafer availability.

Perform root cause analysis of printing and yield limiting hotspots using proven tools.

Support layer-specific simulation, analysis, and full chip study.

Support OPC software quality and performance evaluation.

Prioritize, define, and execute projects to meet team yield, cycle time and quality goals.

Perform all activities in a safe ad responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs


Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree and or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related field.

1+ Years of Relevant Experience

Language Fluency English (Written & Verbal)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related field.

Experience understanding of semiconductor development and OPC or similar Electronic Design Automation (EDA) knowledge.

Experience with Advanced CMOS process/fabrication technologies and device physics.

Experience with or knowledge of the following skills: statistical data analysis, simulation, programming numerical methods and techniques, optimization.

Experience in advanced technology (45nm node or below) and state of the art silicon process technology

Experience in product, integration, process, or reliability engineering

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in scripting and computer languages such as C++, Python, TCL, shell and knowledge of Unix.

Experienced in layout software and CAD environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain failures to customers

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a global matrixed team environment

Knowledge of Lithography, OPC (both modeling and correction), mask data prep, and design rules.

Working knowledge of industrial grade OPC/Lithography software preferred.
