Work close to home with surgical technologist opportunities at#a Magnet designated, community hospital.#If you are a certified#Surgical Technologist with recent experience, we would love to speak with you about joining our team!# Responsibilities: #Works in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures #Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases #Participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation to the surgeon, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the directions of the surgeon# #Assist the circulator, with positioning obtaining needed items during surgery, and assisting in room turnover activities #Operates surgical equipment as needed #Participate in operating room activities related to quality improvement, continuing education, orientation of new personnel and emergency preparedness Qualifications: #Certified Surgical Technologist# #Associates degree or Completion of Surgical Technician Certification Coursework required #1-2 years# experience working as a Surgical Technician (preferred) The law prohibits hospitals and clinics from employing or retaining the services of any person to perform surgical technology tasks unless the person has either: Successfully completed an accredited educational program for surgical technologists and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential; Successfully completed an accredited school of surgical technology but has not, as of the date of hire, obtained the certified surgical technologist certification, provided that such certification shall be obtained within 12 months of the graduation date; Been employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on July 1, 2012; Successfully completed a training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service; or Is performing surgical technology tasks or functions in the service of the federal government, but only to the extent the person is performing duties related to that service. Operates surgical equipment. * Scrubs on surgical cases, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation to the surgeon, participating in surgical counts * Performs related activities under the directions of the surgeon. * When not participating on surgical cases the Operating Room Technician will assist the circulator, with positioning obtaining needed items during surgery, and assisting in room turnover activities. * The Operating Room Technician will participate in Operating Room activities related to quality improvement, continuing education, orientation of new personnel and emergency preparedness.
