The Clinical Specialist demonstrates quality in allactions; Manages the development, administration, and, distributor and customereducation programs pertinent to Medtronic HeartWare s products andtechnology. Formulates and implementspolicies and procedures, and participates in all facets operational decisionmaking pertaining to the programs of the organizational unit. Trains and educates investigators/customerson proper use of the Medtronic HeartWare Ventricular Assist Device (HVAD)product and technology. Works with surgeons, nurses, research coordinators,cardiologists and other hospital personnel to facilitate optimal outcomesduring implant, post-operative care and long-term use of the HVAD system. Supports Field Sales on providing the best possibleoutcomes and service for our customers. Works closely with Sales team andprovides case support to wider team when required. Will partner with ChiefMedical Officer on case analysis, trouble shooting and clinical trialsupport. Collaborates with Marketing/ProductManagement, Engineering and Clinical Affairs on key projects andinitiatives. Works on problems ofmoderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of avariety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practicesto determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external workingrelationships.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Providesleadership and direction in all aspects of the establishment, implementation,promotion, and administration of the clinical education activities, to includeassessment, curriculum planning, communications and clinical skillsdevelopment, and educational support
Developingprofessional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve avariety of issues.
Maintaincontact with customers to evaluate their clinical and educational needs
Developand execute clinical education programs designed to enhance user competencies
Cultivatesclose relationship with strategic business partners, including all trainingcenters and opinion leaders
Providesnew employee training on products, technology and materials
Assistin developing objectives, and programs for marketing and selling the Company sproducts
Providesnursing and/or medical expertise in the development, implementation, and casereports, journal articles and clinical reports from clinicians
Plans,directs, and coordinates educational workshops, and other programs, events, andactivities
Leadsefforts to place speakers on podiums at key conferences
RepresentsHeartWare at conferences and symposiums
Responsiblefor initiating site contacts, providing technical and clinical support tocustomers
Workwith other departments to establish priorities for the Company direction, newproduct development, and customer satisfaction
Inputto management any and all situations affecting clinical results and sales
MUST HAVE - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
INORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONSMUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME
Minimum5 years of clinical experience
NICE TO HAVE - DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Medicaldevice sales within cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology or endovascularsurgery
BS/BAdegree in relevant field/discipline required such as Nursing, BiomedicalScience, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent
Clinicaltrial experience within medical device space is a bonus.

Must be able to drive approximately 80% ofthe time within assigned territory.
Clinical Specialists are required to bewithin their assigned territory each day to be available as unscheduled needsarise. CS s are required to work a number of weekend and holidays during thequarter, as determined by local management. Weeknight call coverage is the primary responsibility of the Sales Rep,however, at times, business and/or geographical needs require a CS to bescheduled for week night coverage as approved by regional management.
Must have a valid driver's license andactive vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will bereviewed and will be considered as part of your application.
Minimum travel of 50%
