METTLER TOLEDO Thornton is a leading supplier for on-line liquid process measurement solutions for pure and ultrapure water applications. Thornton's innovative analytical measurement solutions provide monitoring and control capabilities to customers in the Pharmaceutical, Microelectronics, and Power generation industries.
We are currently recruiting for an energetic Incoming Inspector. This role is responsible for both mechanical and electro-mechanical incoming inspection activity. In addition, this position will serve as a backup, after training, for final inspection. In this role you will take responsibility for the \"day to day\" activity associated with the PMI database thereby insuring product traceability.
As a member of the Quality Department, you will work towards disruption elimination for both the employee and customer perspective in support of the goal to \"Satisfy Every Customer, Every Time\". You will monitor and report performance against established milestones and KPI's. You will work across departments to achieve stated objectives. Inspecting purchased mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials for conformance to drawing requirements and specifications, using precision measuring tools, instrument, optical comparator and completes associated paperwork as required.
Working to and following controlled drawings, procedures and documents.
Authoring Quality Notifications for disturbances.
Assist in the tracking of nonconforming product and verify effective corrective action.
Under the direction of the senior Quality Department members, analyze and solve quality problems
Under direction of senior Quality Department members, sets up incoming inspection instructions.
Collecting pass/fail quality metrics data on excel file and/or other ERP systems such as SAP.
Maintaining SN and other critical information in Inspection database.
Maintaining > 98% MRB inventory accuracy on both a value and absolute quantity value basis.
Maintaining and updating the PMI database.
Performing ISO Audits as directed.
What You Need to Succeed
2 5 year experience inspecting Machined Parts, Printed Circuit Boards, electrical/mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies and optical components; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good working knowledge of GD&T with ability to read and interpret manufacturing mechanical drawings.
Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or GMP regulations.
Able to apply basic inspection techniques, including various sampling plans.
Skilled with appropriate measurement tools for various tasks and able to assess tool accuracy and precision.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, engineers and management team.
Effective Writing skills necessary to complete various documents.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) with ability to navigate through database folders to scan, add, and save files
Nice to Have:
Experience with precision opto-mechanical and opto-electronic parts and assemblies
Experience with optical comparator
Experience with SAP
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
