Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Faculty Affairs (Assistant Director) provides coordination for complex and diverse faculty appointments and programs at the Law School. Working with Human Resources, Finance, Faculty Support, Administrative Services and other departments, the Assistant Director administers employment and on-boarding processes for faculty, fellows and special appointments. The Assistant Director intakes requests received by centers, faculty and fellows and, under the direction of the Associate Dean and Chief Operating Officer (COO), coordinates responses. Builds and maintains systems for managing faculty appointments and projects (e.g., sabbaticals, AMI) to ensure proper review and timely and appropriate action is taken with respect to the specific terms of appointments and projects. This role is involved in all aspects of faculty affairs work, dealing with appointments, promotion and tenure, leaves and retirements, faculty-related budgeting, and various types of reporting, both internally and to the University. It involves reporting, writing, and various ad hoc projects.Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree Required Experience: 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with office operations, research and writing, budget administration, and project management. Preferred Experience: Higher education experience preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and in writing. Ability to interact with a diverse population at all levels. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
