Position Summary NYU s Gallatin School of Individualized Study is looking for a talented Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement to provide creative leadership to a broad range of alumni activities at the Gallatin School. The position will cultivate and steward relationships with alumni, current students, donors and the Gallatin Dean s and Parents Councils. Design; plan and execute events, program and activities to enhance the School s reputation as to increase alumni involvement with the school. Work directly with the dean and the Director of Community Engagement to help foster alumni partnerships (current student connections to alumni) to produce a more engaged and active alumni community, developing support for current students drawing on alumni strengths, and providing tangible benefits and support for alumni. Work with the dean to help develop innovative programs and to connect alumni to creativity and entrepreneurship initiatives in the school. Work collaboratively with UDAR to identify potential alumni donors and oversee outreach, cultivation, and database management. Some travel required. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Required Experience: 5+ years increasingly responsible experience in alumni and/or public relations or equivalent combination. Must include experience with staff supervision and managing budget. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with individuals at all levels. Ability to make decisions under pressure. Strong attention to detail. Ability to cultivate and solicit donations. Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
