Job Description:

Position Overview: The Compliance & Risk Manager, under the direction of the Chief Risk Officer, is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Bank s and its subsidiaries compliance, BSA/AML and security/fraud policies and programs including the management of the Department s staff. The Compliance & Risk Manager is also a key resource to all Bank management and personnel in the regulatory and compliance areas, and as such must be able to effectively interact with all levels of management and provide well-researched and sound decisions and advice as it relates to Bank policies and applicable laws and regulations. Primary Accountabilities:Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the Bank s compliance, BSA/AML/OFAC and security/fraud programs to ensure that each functional area of the Bank achieves and maintains compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations. Communicates with regulators, when necessary, regarding regulatory and compliance matters.Responsible to identify, track and analyze additions or changes in law, regulation or guidance including all new regulations promulgated by both federal and state authorities impacting the Bank s operations and its customers. Responsible for identifying potential compliance gaps and reporting on the implementation status of new regulatory requirements to senior management.Manages the daily operations of the department to include review, problem recognition and resolution, system administration, and regulatory compliance. Provides management and direction to staff and coordinates work flow of assigned areas within the Compliance & Risk Management Department, including distributing work, disseminating information, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems.Provide compliance and risk management guidance and support to all business units and subsidiaries regarding regulatory compliance, BSA/AML/OFAC, security/fraud and risk matters. Conducts research, as necessary, to address questions and implementation efforts. Serves as the CIP and BSA Officer providing policy, training, documents and reports as required. Partners with supported business units to ensure ongoing maintenance and effectiveness of their compliance activities and programsMaintains a current knowledge of all Bank related federal and state laws and regulations and monitors legislative and regulatory developments.Manages the performance of several risk assessments, including compliance risk assessment, BSA/AML/OFAC, Fair Lending, and others as required.Maintains and tracks all compliance-related policies to ensure they remain current with all laws and regulations and accurately reflect the Bank s practices. Communicates policy and regulatory changes to management.Manages a Compliance Monitoring Program, ensuring monitoring reviews are conducted across the organization with recommendations tracked and reported.Manages the Bank s customer complaint policy and program.Work with all departments to continually reinforce guidelines through training, mentoring and consistent follow-up to ensure compliance with all regulations. Coordinates with the Bank s Training Manager to ensure appropriate compliance & risk core training occurs.Responsible for development and preparation of various compliance reports, including periodic management and board reporting and presentations.Provide assistance and support to the Chief Risk Officer relating to risk management practices and programs.Perform related and unrelated duties as may be required. Experience and Education:Bachelor s Degree requiredMinimum 5 -7 years banking compliance experience is required.Strong working knowledge in areas of consumer regulatory compliance and BSA/AML/OFAC is required.Knowledge of general banking operations and activities is desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be able to manage and lead others effectively, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and possess strong numeric aptitude, presentation, analytical, decision making and customer service skills.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are needed.Must be organized and able to multi-task while managing several items simultaneously.Requires excellent research and regulatory comprehension skills. This position is not subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements.
